Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Friday urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to delay the presidential elections.
The presidential candidate, Achakzai, had written a letter to the electoral watchdog. In a letter, Achakzai said: “There are many reserved seats that are still vacant.”.
Achakzai asked the ECP to delay the presidential elections until the completion of the electoral college.
– Achakzai does not make direct contact with JI –
Separately, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) said on that Mahmood Khan Achakzai did not make direct contact with the party over the presidential elections.
JI leader Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi said: “It was three days ago that a delegation of the PkMAP visited the JI central office. During the meeting with the PkMAP delegation, the country’s political situation was discussed.”
“The JI has not even a single lawmaker in the National Assembly,” he added.
Hashmi maintained: “Two of the lawmakers are representing the JI in the Balochistan Assembly.”
