Army Chief Gen Syed Asim Munir celebrated Eid Al-Fitr with officers and soldiers stationed at the western border to mark the occasion with prayers and heartfelt messages for national stability and prosperity.
During his visit to South Waziristan’s Wana area and Dera Ismail Khan, the COAS participated in Eid prayers.
He expressed his heartfelt wishes for the well-being of the nation.
Speaking to the soldiers, the COAS conveyed his gratitude for their dedication, saying, "Your determination not only keeps the nation safe, but it also serves as an example of sincere patriotism."
He praised the officers and soldiers for their unshakable commitment and exemplary services, emphasising the importance of their role in securing the country’s borders.
Gen Munir commended the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their bravery in the face of terrorism.
"The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have consistently demonstrated courage against the scourge of terrorism," he said.
Additionally, Gen Munir lauded the coordinated efforts of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies working side by side with the public to ensure peace in the region.
He stated that the military's successes are a result of the sacrifices made by martyrs and those who gave their lives for the greater cause of peace and stability.
Upon his arrival, the Peshawar Corps Commander warmly welcomed General Munir, who also expressed his appreciation for the tireless efforts of the formations stationed in the area.
