President Asif Ali Zardari and United States Ambassador Donald Blome on Monday resolved to boost trade between the two countries.
Blome called on President Zardari in Islamabad. On this occasion, President Zardari underlined the importance of creating opportunities for mutual cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
President Zardari said: “The companies of the United States should be encouraged to invest in Pakistan and bring innovative ideas.”.
Emphasising the importance of fostering bilateral relations between the two countries, President Zardari said: “The ties between Pakistan and the US span seven decades and are long standing and broad-based.”.
“It is the topmost priority to put the country’s economy on the right track. There is a dire need to overcome the economic and security challenges,” President Zardari maintained.
Pakistan is among the countries most affected by the consequences of climate change.
Meanwhile, Blome felicitated President Zardari on becoming president for the second time.
Blome said: “Pakistan and the US can increase mutual cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, climate change, and renewable energy.”.
