The Pakistani Embassy in Iran, in collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), facilitated the safe return of three Pakistani youths who had fallen prey to human traffickers in Iran.
Amid harrowing tales of torture and exploitation, Faisal, Nazir Hasnain, and Anwar, hailing from Lahore, were rescued from the clutches of traffickers who had duped them with promises of passage to Europe.
Their ordeal, marked by unspeakable torment and threats of organ harvesting, finally came to an end as they were reunited with their families in Lahore.
According to the FIA, the victims were ensnared in Iran under false pretenses, with traffickers exploiting their dreams of a better life abroad. The perpetrators resorted to abhorrent tactics, including sending videos of torture to extort exorbitant sums from the youths' families, a cruel testament to the depths of their depravity.
"It was a living nightmare," shared one of the survivors, recounting the horrors endured during their captivity. "We were deceived, tortured, and made to fear for our lives. But thanks to the relentless efforts of the Pakistani Embassy and FIA, we have been delivered from this ordeal."
The intricate web of deceit spun by the traffickers involved a convoluted route from Iran to Turkey, then onwards to Italy and Greece, under the guise of migration. However, their journey was abruptly halted as authorities intervened, thwarting the nefarious designs of the traffickers.
Zaheer Abbas, Talha, and Sarwar, identified as the key figures behind the trafficking ring, now face imminent justice as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to apprehend them. Hailing from the Hafizabad area, these perpetrators exploited innocent pilgrims, luring them into a trap of exploitation and misery.
In light of this egregious incident, the Ministry of Home Affairs has pledged decisive action against human trafficking networks operating within Pakistan's borders. The FIA, bolstered by public cooperation, is conducting rigorous raids to ensure that those responsible are swiftly brought to justice.
