Anti-Extremism Unit of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police asked the concentered authorities to close 462 social media accounts spreading religious and linguistic hatred.
Police had marked 1,522 accounts involved in negative activities while Islamabad Police wrote a letter to FIA for the closure of accounts. Among the closed accounts, 65 were religious and 47 were carrying anti-national propaganda.
Police sources claimed 350 blocked accounts were involved in spreading terrorist content.
The other 1,060 accounts identified will also be closed soon, police sources said.
