Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is unfazed by the talk of a crisis engulfing Manchester United as he focuses on preparing his team to face Erik ten Hag's side in their upcoming match.
Manchester United's early-season struggles continued as they lost 4-3 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, adding to their woes in the Premier League, where they have suffered three defeats in their first five fixtures. Off-field issues have also compounded the challenges facing Ten Hag's embattled squad, intensifying the pressure to secure a positive result at Turf Moor.
However, Kompany is resolute in his approach, emphasising that his primary concern is his own team. He commented, "I only try and assess (United) in a way that I need to do for my team, their strengths and weaknesses."
Drawing from his experience at a major club during his time as Manchester City captain, Kompany understands the dynamics when a team faces adversity. He recognises that pressure can mount but refrains from discussing United's challenges, maintaining his focus on the pitch.
Kompany, while acknowledging Ten Hag's capabilities, is eager to build on Burnley's recent progress. Their 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest marked their first point of the season, following three consecutive home defeats against Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Tottenham. The draw provided a positive step forward for the team, and Kompany is optimistic about their attacking potential, aiming to showcase it in the upcoming match.
"I'm really looking forward to this game to see if we've made those steps forward," he stated, emphasising his belief in Burnley's attacking threat and their ability to create opportunities on the field.
