Sidra Amin (80) and captain Fatima Sana (62 and 3-39) ensured that Pakistan women’s national team qualified for the Women’s World Cup 2025 by defeating Thailand in the 12th match of the Women’s World Cup Qualifier at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday.
According to details, Pakistan elected to bat first. At the outset, the Green Shirts were struggling and lost four wickets for just 85 runs. However, Sidra and the captain, Sana, added impetus to Pakistan’s innings by adding a run-a-ball partnership of 97 runs.
For Thailand, Thipatcha Putthawong (2-37) claimed two wickets. Phannita Maya (1-19) and Onnicha Kamchomphu (1-39) claimed one wicket each.
Chasing a 206-run target, the Thailand team were bundled out for 118 within the 35th over.
For Pakistan, Rameen Shamim (3-38), Nashra Sandhu (3-19), and Fatima Sana (3-39) took three wickets apiece. Sadia Iqbal (1-11) claimed one wicket.
