Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khoreev met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday.
The premier expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the Moscow concert attack. He said Pakistan stood with Russia over this tragic incident.
On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the ambassador congratulated Prime Minister Sharif on assuming the office.
The PM thanked President Putin for his congratulatory message, and said Pakistan wanted to increase bilateral cooperation with Russia in various fields, especially energy, trade, and investment.
Shehbaz emphasized the need to convene the ninth meeting of the Inter-Governmental Commission soon, which Russia is set to host later this year. The Russian ambassador said Moscow wanted to develop strong relations with Pakistan.
The Russian ambassador further said that apart from energy, trade and investment, Russia also wanted to increase cooperation in education and culture.
PM Shehbaz invited the Russian delegation to visit Pakistan for trade and investment.
