Just as the tensions between India and Canada escalate, an Indian politician threatened to nuke Canada while he was live on a national television channel.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday said that they had credible evidence linking Indian agents to the murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June which prompted an angry denial from New Delhi.
On September 19, the Indian government summoned the High Commissioner of Canada to convey its decision regarding expulsion of a senior Canadian diplomat stationed in India.
This diplomat was given a five-day notice to depart from India.
Meanwhile, the United States (US) on Friday also told India to cooperate with Canada's investigation into the murder.
"We are deeply concerned about the allegations raised by Prime Minister Trudeau," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a press briefing on Friday. "It is important that India work with Canada on this investigation. We want to see those responsible held accountable."
With current developments, it is certain to say that things are heating up between the two nations.
As a fallout of it, a politician threatened to nuke Canada during a live talk show on Indian national TV channel.
