Doha's Hamad International Airport has dethroned Singapore Changi Airport as the world's best airport, according to the esteemed Skytrax World Airport Awards 2024.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards, celebrated as the gold standard for evaluating traveller experiences, bestowed the coveted title upon Hamad International Airport, marking its third triumph in this prestigious competition.
The Qatari airport's victory underscores its relentless commitment to delivering unparalleled services and fostering exceptional passenger satisfaction.
"This year, HIA celebrates its milestone 10th year of operations, and we are truly honoured that passengers have voted us Best Airport in the World for a third time," remarked Badr Al Meer, the Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, expressing gratitude for the resounding endorsement from global travellers.
Dubai also emerged as a notable contender in the rankings, securing the seventh position after a remarkable leap of ten places. The Emirati hub's ascent underscores its unwavering dedication to enhancing passenger experiences and solidifying its status as a world-class aviation hub.
Asian airports dominated the upper echelons of the rankings, with Seoul's Incheon International Airport securing third place, followed closely by Tokyo's Haneda and Narita airports in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Hong Kong International Airport made significant strides, climbing from 33rd to 11th place, reaffirming its commitment to excellence.
Meanwhile, European airports showcased their prowess, with Munich, Zurich, and Istanbul securing positions in the top ten. Rome's Fiumicino Airport, Vienna International Airport, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, and Madrid-Barajas Airport also featured prominently in the rankings, highlighting Europe's strong representation in the global aviation landscape.
