Prize bond as popular investment choice
Prize bonds have long been a popular choice for millions of Pakistanis, offering a secure and government-backed way to save money. Managed by the CDNS since the 1960s in collaboration with the central bank, the scheme allows citizens to protect their funds from inflation and devaluation, with the added allure of winning large prizes. Prize bonds are available in denominations ranging from Rs100 to Rs40,000, giving investors flexibility based on their preferences and financial capacity.
The balloting for the Rs750 prize bond, held at the National Savings Centre in Peshawar, marks one of the quarterly draws that have become a fixture in Pakistan’s financial landscape. These draws are highly anticipated events, with the CDNS ensuring transparency and fairness in the selection process.

Since its inception, the prize bond system has been instrumental in raising funds for the government while offering a risk-free investment opportunity for the public.
The bonds are considered "bearer instruments," meaning they can be transferred easily without registration, making them even more accessible for individuals across Pakistan. Despite their popularity, the government has introduced new measures to curb misuse and ensure greater transparency in the prize bond system.
