Famed comedian Umer Sharif is being remembered on his 59th birthday anniversary.
Sharif had proved his prowess for decades and continued to mesmerise the fans with great vigour. It was for the first time that Sharif performed at the theater when he was merely 14-year-old and went on to win prizes including Rs5,000, a 70cc motorcycle, and petrol for the entire year.
He was skilled at performing in theatres without a script. Sharif rose to prominence in 1980 through the audio cassette.
It was in the 1990s that Sharif was labelled as the “King of Comedy” of South Asia.
Sharif had also bagged immense popularity with "Bakra Qiston Pay," which has captured the attention of viewers from both Pakistan and India.
Importantly, Sharif had not only proved his mettle in comedy and acting, but he had also shown his skills as a film director, composer, writer, and producer.
Sharif passed away in Germany in 2021 and left everybody grief-stricken.
