Quetta deputy commissioner said that ‘Buddy Bear’ has been shifted to a safe place after the theft of Buddy Bear's protective forest.
He said investigating from different aspects to find the accused and vowed ‘Buddy Bear’ will be reinstalled very soon with additional cameras to be installed to protect the site.
Earlier, ‘Buddy Bear’ was installed in Quetta to celebrate the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Germany.
Quetta’s street was renamed to ‘Berlin Quetta Friendship Square’.
“The buddy bear is a symbol of the city of Berlin. With outstretched arms, it stands for peace, friendship and cooperation,” German Consul General in Karachi Rudiger Lotz said after the ceremony.
“We are proud that the Buddy Bear as of now also is a citizen of the city of Quetta!”
According to reports, there are many as 16,000 statues of Buddy Bears installed around the world.
