In an ongoing crackdown against electricity theft, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has apprehended an additional 14 individuals involved in power pilferage.
So far, cases have been registered against 118 individuals, with a total of 530 units of illegal connections detected during the operation.
According to the spokesperson, LESCO initiated a grand operation against power thieves on the 19th day of this month.
During the operations carried out in various areas including Ichhra, New Shadbagh, Rasoolpura, Islamic Colony, and Ferozepur Road, three hundred more illegal connections were seized.
Charges have been filed against 118 individuals, while 14 suspects have been arrested in connection with electricity theft.
The confiscated units and equipment are estimated to be worth over two hundred and eighty-one lakh rupees.
So far, more than 5,000 cases related to electricity theft have been registered, resulting in the arrest of over 500 suspects.
The crackdown on electricity theft continues as authorities strive to curb this illegal practice that affects both the power supply and the national economy.
