Security personnel on Sunday morning conducted a search operation following an ambush on an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy a day before, in which one personnel was killed.
According to ANI citing officials, the search operation was carried out to track the personnel behind the attack. Indian security forces, known for their worst human rights violations in Held Valley to justify their illegal and unjust occupation of Muslim Majority Kashmir, set up pickets and checked.
At least one soldier was killed while five others were injured when a vehicle convoy of the Indian Air Force (IAF) came under heavy firing in the Poonch district of Held Jammu and Kashmir.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and have launched a hunt against it, while the number of casualties is expected to increase in the attack.
The officials from the security forces informed that the attack took place when the IAF convoy was moving towards Sanai Top in the district’s Surankote area.
The officials added that the vehicles had been secured inside the air base in the General area near Shahsitar.
Five IAF personnel were injured in the attack on Saturday evening near Shahsitar in the district's Surankote area and one of them succumbed to injuries at a military hospital, officials said. (PTI)
According to the officials, the search operation was carried out to track the terrorists. Security forces have laid down nakas and checking is going on in the area.
Additional forces of the Indian Army reached the Jarra Wali Gali (JWG) in Poonch on Saturday late at night.
