As the scorching heatwave tightens its grip over Punjab, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issues a cautionary advisory, predicting a significant surge in day temperatures by up to 5 degrees Celsius until May 10.
Plains areas, in particular, are expected to bear the brunt of the heatwave, warns a PDMA spokesperson.
The spokesperson also forecasts the onset of dusty winds and potential rainfall across most districts of Punjab from May 10 to 12. Furthermore, thunderstorms are anticipated to lash southern Punjab on May 10 and 11.

Karachi weather
In Karachi, although warm and clear weather prevails, the temperature will be felt higher than normal due to the high humidity levels in the air.
The Meteorological department alerts residents to the intensity of heat during the day, with temperatures soaring between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius. Despite the absence of a heatwave situation attributed to sea breezes, the department urges caution, citing high humidity levels.
Winds are blowing from the western direction at a speed of 15km per hour, while the percentage of humidity in the air is 78%.
