Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that JUI-F would not accept these assemblies are not representative of the people.
He was addressing a public gathering of JUI-F in the provincial metropolis of Peshawar.
The former head of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) — a rainbow alliance that moved a no-confidence motion against former premier Imran Khan and ousted him from the prime minister office in April 2022 — said JUI-F has given a message that it did not accept ‘fake assemblies’.
Maulana Fazl said that calling these assemblies of the people is an ‘insult to the people’.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman asked where the people of erstwhile FATA stood as they were promised to be provided Rs100 billion annually. “Eight years have passed but Rs100 has not been provided to (erstwhile) FATA,” the JUI chief emphasized.
Commenting on the liberation of Palestine, the JUI-F supremo said that Palestinian people were fighting for their liberation and freedom. He said over 40,000 people embraced martyrdom in the enemy’s bombardment.
