Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif IT City in Lahore.
Addressing the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz said that unlike previous governments, which had given petrol bombs to the youth, her government was providing them with modern tools to unlock their potential.
She credited the PML-N supremo with introducing 3G and 4G technology to Pakistan.
The IT City project declared tax-free for 10 years, aims to attract major IT companies and provide a conducive environment for investment.
Maryam Nawaz announced that several prominent IT companies have already expressed interest in the project.
Punjab CM stressed the need to harness the talents of the youth for the country's progress.
She announced plans to launch a laptop scheme and a skill development program to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in the modern job market.
On the other hand, Maryam Nawaz announced that 10,000 female students who have applied for electric motorbikes will receive them soon.
