Punjab Minister of Industry and Commerce, Shafi Hussain, has announced a major move towards local production of solar panels.
The provincial govt aims to boost its solar energy sector by establishing local manufacturing facilities, with key investments from Chinese companies.
During a meeting with a delegation from a Chinese solar company, Minister Shafi Hussain discussed plans to set up solar panel factories in Punjab.

He emphasized the provincial government's commitment to facilitating these companies and creating a conducive environment for their investments.
Minister Hussain highlighted that Chinese companies have shown a keen interest in investing in Punjab's solar energy sector.
He also hinted at developing a long-term policy to support this initiative. According to the minister, now is the optimal time to invest in solar energy in Punjab, given the favorable conditions and the government's proactive approach.
