"India labels itself a secular country, but minorities there, especially Muslims and lower-caste Hindus, often feel unsafe," says a resident of Shanti Nagar. "Here in Pakistan, we Hindus feel safe and happy."

"We live very peacefully. Our ancestors have been here since the British era," a long-time resident notes.

In addition to security, the govt offers economic support. "We are given a relief package by the govt, and they also provide full support for our festivals," confirms another community member.
