Pakistan has made significant progress on the diplomatic front as the Kuwait and Qatar emirs accepted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's invitation to visit Pakistan.
According to details, the ambassadors of Kuwait and Qatar met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif separately on Sunday, where they presented letters from their respective leaders, accepting the invitation to visit Pakistan.
The Kuwaiti ambassador presented a letter from Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, while the Qatari ambassador presented a letter from Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
PM Shehbaz welcomed the development, saying, "Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Qatar." He views the visit as a significant step forward in strengthening ties between the two countries.
The visits by the Kuwait and Qatar emirs are expected to boost cooperation in various fields, including investment and trade, and will be a significant milestone in bilateral relations between Pakistan and the two Gulf states.
– PM extols efforts of civil armed forces –
Separately, PM Shehbaz had extolled the efforts of the civil armed forces in a bid to end the menace of smuggling.
According to details, the premier chaired a meeting in Islamabad to commend the performance of the civil armed forces in combating smuggling. On this occasion, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir attended the meeting as a special guest.
The prime minister praised the law enforcement agencies for their efforts in reducing smuggling, saying that it's the first time in the country's history that a significant decline has been seen in smuggling cases.
Despite challenging circumstances, PM Shehbaz expressed pride in the personnel who had made sacrifices in the war against smuggling.
He paid tribute to the martyrs who have lost their lives in this fight, saying that their efforts have resulted in a significant increase in national revenue.
PM Shehbaz assured that his government will continue to provide full support to the civil armed forces.
The PM directed that the civil armed forces be equipped with modern technology and weapons to enhance their capabilities.
