According to the Met Department, the series of thunderstorms and rain is expected to continue across Lahore until June 7. The recent rainfall has already brought significant relief to the residents of Lahore, where last night’s downpour broke the persistent heatwave.
The temperature in Lahore, which had been soaring, dropped significantly due to the wind and rain on Monday night, bringing much-needed respite.
Before the rain, the temperature was recorded at a scorching 40 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department had warned of the possibility of temperatures rising as high as 45 degrees Celsius.
The cooling effect of the rain is expected to persist, with more showers and thunderstorms predicted in the coming days.
