Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro demanded on Wendesday the announcement of the election date.
Expressing his thoughts, Mr Khuhro said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had announced that general elections cannot take place within 90 days.
Mr Khuhro had indicated that the electoral watchdog had revealed the initial constituency delimitation on September 27. He had expressed disappointment over the delay in announcing the election date.
He was of the view that it is not appropriate the way the masses are facing delays in the announcement of the election date.
Mr Khuhro said: "The ECP had indicated that development projects will commence in Sindh after August 15".
"There were no restrictions on development projects in Punjab, whereas restrictions exist in Sindh," Mr Khuhro rued.
He had emphasised that the province contributing 65 per cent to the country's economy should not be ignored.
– Kundi lambast Siraj –
PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday lashed out at Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq.
In a reaction to the press talk of Mr Haq, Mr Kundi said: “Sirajul Haq should not misguide the masses for the sake of cheap publicity stunts. Sirajul Haq needs to have information of the negotiations made by the PPP with independent power producers (IPPs).”
“If the PPP had not reached an agreement with the IPPs, the country would have been dragged into a quagmire today,” Mr Kundi added.
Mr Kundi stated: “During the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sirajul Haq was the senior minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).”
“The country’s economy would have been strengthened if the industrial zones were established,” Mr Kundi said.
