Kia Motors has announced another price increase for its popular crossover, the Stonic, now set at Rs 6,028,000. This marks a significant rise from its recent discounted price of Rs 4,767,000, introduced to boost sales.
Initially, in a bid to boost sales, Kia surprised everyone by slashing the Stonic’s price by a significant amount. This brought the price down to Rs 4,767,000, a welcome change for budget-conscious buyers compared to the previous price of Rs 6,280,000. However, this move left a bitter taste for those who had purchased the car at the earlier, higher price.
The price reduction proved highly successful, with overwhelming customer response leading Kia to temporarily halt bookings.
Now, in a surprising turn of events, Kia has reopened Stonic bookings with a significant price increase. The new price tag remains undisclosed, but it's sure to be higher than the previous Rs 4.7 million.
From July 1, all new orders will be scheduled for delivery in December 2024 or later, with a partial payment of Rs 2.5 million required for booking.
Kia has implemented a price lock for orders with partial payments for delivery in December 2024 and January 2025, though any depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar or increased import duties and taxes will be the customer's responsibility at delivery.
