Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday emphasized the crucial role of politics and politicians in advancing a country.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, he stressed that only through genuine political engagement can nations progress, cautioning against the detrimental effects of lies and obstinacy, which he said cannot be classified as true politics.
In his address, the minister illustrated the concept of revenge in politics with an intriguing example. He recounted the story of two friends sharing a room, where one person monopolizes the bed, leaving the other to sleep on the floor.
When the opportunity arises, the second person retaliates, preventing the first from using the bed, thus illustrating how negative behaviors perpetuate a cycle of revenge.
Rana Sanaullah urged the nation to focus on improving attitudes, identifying lies and stubbornness as detrimental behaviors that hinder societal development. He called for these negative traits to be recognized and corrected, advocating for a collective movement to foster positive attitudes.
“Countries cannot move forward on the basis of lies,” he stated, emphasizing the necessity for honest and constructive political dialogue.
He highlighted the importance of political parties and politicians in driving national progress and urged the nation to review and rectify its attitudes to achieve sustainable development.
