Pakistan and the United States have agreed to send qualified Pakistani nurses to New York for employment.
The deputy speaker of the New York State Assembly, Phil Ramos, visited the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad where he was welcomed by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest, including increasing cooperation in education, health, policing and economic sectors. During the meeting, it was agreed to send qualified Pakistani nurses to New York for employment.
Deputy Speaker Ramos also invited Minister Mohsin Naqvi to visit New York. He said the Pakistani community in America was rendering significant services in every field, adding that there was a shortage of qualified nurses in America, while Pakistan has a lot of potential in this regard.
Naqvi said there are wide opportunities for mutual cooperation in the fields of education, health and economic development, adding that urgent steps will be taken to send Pakistani qualified nurses to New York.
Moreover, a delegation of Islamabad Police will visit New York soon for a training programme.
