The United States has reiterated its commitment to supporting Pakistan in its ongoing struggle against terrorism and efforts to improve its economy.
In recent press briefings, spokespersons from both the US State Department and the Department of Defense emphasized the strong bilateral relationship and common interests shared by the two nations.
State Department on terrorism, economic collaboration
Matthew Miller, a spokesperson for the US State Department, acknowledged the significant suffering that the people of Pakistan have endured due to "violent extremists and terrorists". He highlighted that combating threats to regional security is a shared objective of the United States with the people and government of Pakistan.

In his remarks during his recent press briefing, Miller urged the Taliban to ensure that their territory is not used as a base for terrorist activities.
He also reiterated the importance of bilateral cooperation, stating that the US is actively working with Pakistan on multiple fronts, including efforts to bolster the Pakistani economy. "Pakistan continues to be a close partner that we work with on a number of important matters, including improving the Pakistan economy," he added.
Defense Department's solidarity
During a separate press briefing, Major General Pat Ryder, a spokesperson for the US Department of Defense, extended condolences to the families of Pakistani security personnel who were killed in recent attacks.
"Our prayers are with the families of Pakistani security personnel killed in the attack," he said, adding, "Pakistan is in a tough fight at times when it comes to fighting terrorists in the region."

Ryder emphasized the long-standing partnership between the US and Pakistan in counter-terrorism efforts. "America and Pakistan have worked together in the past for counter-terrorism," he noted, adding that discussions are ongoing about how the two nations can continue to collaborate effectively.
"We maintain security cooperation relations with Pakistan," Ryder affirmed when asked about Islamabad seeking US support. "I'm sure that those discussions are happening via those mechanisms to look at Pakistan's requirements and -- and what the US can do to support."
