Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently visited the Technology Park project in Islamabad to review the progress of the ongoing construction. He said the project is set to become Pakistan's first technology park of Category 3, built to meet international standards.
During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of continuous work on development projects. "As soon as the government took over, I issued instructions to work 24 hours on development projects," the prime minister said.
He noted that a 24-hour construction system had already been introduced for development projects in Punjab, and expressed his satisfaction with the continued round-the-clock construction on the Technology Park project.
"If we want to bring Pakistan to the heights of development, we have to work day and night," Shehbaz stated, adding that he has personally given up his weekends to oversee the progress of various initiatives. "If we want Pakistan to progress, then everyone has to work together."
He called on everyone to contribute to the country's development, urging the project team and the Ministry of IT to expedite their efforts to complete the Technology Park as soon as possible.
The Islamabad Technology Park is expected to create a synergy between domestic and international academia, researchers, industry, and planners.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the park's construction would significantly boost the country's IT exports by $70 million annually and create 10,000 new employment opportunities.
In his remarks, the prime minister also expressed gratitude to the South Korean government for its support of the project. He underscored the importance of international collaboration in advancing Pakistan's technological infrastructure and economic growth.
