Railway authorities have temporarily suspended train services between Lahore and Faisalabad following the collapse of a pillar on a railway bridge between Shahdara and Masan Kalan.
According to reports, the Lahore-Faisalabad railway track was closed for a period of 72 hours due to the pillar collapse.
Trains operating on this route have been canceled until further notice.
The affected services include the Lahore to Faisalabad Marvi Express, Badar Express, and Ghouri Express.
As a result of the track closure, the Karachi to Lahore-bound Karakoram Express has been rerouted through Sahiwal.
Similarly, changes have been made to the routes of Shalimar Express and Mianwali Express.
A railway spokesperson stated that the railway staff were present at the site when the pillar collapsed and promptly halted train operations for safety reasons.
The restoration work on the bridge has commenced, and it is expected to be completed within the next 72 hours.
The temporary suspension of this crucial railway service has inconvenienced commuters and travelers between Lahore and Faisalabad.
Railway authorities are working to restore the track and resume normal train operations as soon as possible.
