Pakistan goods transporters across the country initiated a wheel jam strike, causing a complete shutdown in major trading hubs such as Akbari Mandi and Badami Bagh in Lahore.
Booking of goods has been halted, raising concerns over the supply of essential commodities including vegetables, fruits, and pulses.
Strike demands
The Goods Transporters Association, led by Sadr, demands the immediate withdrawal of increased toll taxes.
Tariq Nabil, a key leader of the association, advocates for a standardized excel weight system to be implemented nationwide.
Nabil also called for the placement of barriers on the entry and exit routes of every city to prevent robberies on highways, ensuring safer transportation for goods.
