In Chunian, a case of alleged rape involving the station house officer (SHO) of City police station has come to light, prompting swift action by the police authorities.
The victim, a young girl, complained that she had filed an application with the SHO to register a case against her fiancé. However, she alleged, the SHO called her to Rasheed Garden, where he raped her.
She also alleged that the SHO took a bribe of Rs600,000 for not registering her case.
The Kasur district police officer (DPO) has taken notice of the incident and suspended the SHO pending investigation. To ensure a thorough and impartial inquiry, an investigation team has been formed under the leadership of SP investigation. The team includes DSP City and DSP Legal to look into the allegations and uncover the truth.
