A high-level Chinese delegation visited Gwadar on Tuesday, exploring future investment opportunities and reviewing progress on existing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The 26-member delegation, comprising representatives from the Chinese embassy, Pakistani officials, and business leaders, held meetings with local authorities and visited key sites, including the New Gwadar International Airport, Pakistan China Friendship Hospital, South Free Zone, and Gwadar Port.
Discussions focused on CPEC's Phase 2 project, development programs, and investment potential. The delegation expressed satisfaction with security measures in place for Chinese employees working on various projects.
Addressing the gathering, Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi emphasised the significance of Pakistan-China industrial cooperation, terming it crucial for the region's economic revolution. He highlighted the creation of employment and business opportunities for the people of Balochistan.
Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Pasand Khan Bilidi briefed the delegation on the importance of CPEC for Gwadar Port's success. China Overseas Port Holding Company's Chairman offered suggestions to strengthen trade ties.
