After the Afghan Taliban’s came to power, difficulties of the Afghan citizens have only increased.
Afghanistan's current economic situation has raised questions about the Taliban's policies and the country's future.
Along with a declining economy, now the drought has put the lives of ordinary Afghans in extreme trouble and extraordinary difficulties.
According to a recent report published by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance, 48% of Afghans are living below the poverty line and 83,000 were affected by recent rains in Afghanistan.
Moreover, 12.4 million Afghans suffered from food insecurity and the Taliban are using aid from international institutions for terrorism in the region and for their nefarious purposes.
According to UNDP, Afghanistan's deteriorating environmental challenges are contributing to the humanitarian crisis, while 34 million Afghans live in poverty. It says humanitarian aid activities in Afghanistan have fallen sharply due to security crisis.
The UNDP further says Afghanistan has fallen backward because of the Taliban government. The Taliban government banned the employment of women personnel in civil society organizations, which had a negative impact on the economy.
While every institution in Afghanistan is on the verge of a collapse, the Afghan Taliban are engaged in promoting extremism in the region, the UNDP added.
