The three-day Food and Agricultural International Exhibition held at Karachi's Expo Centre has come to an end.
At the conclusion of the exhibition, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Zubair Motiwala presented a briefing.
He said that the value of trade agreements at the current expo was 200% more than the volume at the previous exhibition. Pakistani companies received orders worth $1.2 billion at this year's exhibition, he claimed, adding $410 million worth of orders were received at last year’s exhibition.
Motiwala said that at the expo, 800 international buyers from 75 different countries took part. Pakistani companies presented more than 500 products to buyers at the exhibition. The largest-ever 150-person Chinese corporate delegation was also present at the expo.
In the seafood sector alone, $35 million worth of deals were signed with Chinese businesses during the event. The exhibition also set a record of 7,000 business-to-business meetings.
