The Foreign Office of Pakistan on Friday urged foreign governments to avoid meddling in the country’s internal matters, emphasizing that Pakistan is capable of addressing its issues.
During the weekly press briefing, the Foreign Office spokesperson asserted that the people of Pakistan possess the capacity to resolve their internal challenges independently.
The spokesperson also expressed Pakistan’s concerns over several international issues, highlighting the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and South Asia.
Regarding the Middle East, the spokesperson condemned the continued Israeli actions in Gaza, reporting that over 40,000 innocent civilians have been killed.
"Pakistan strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza and calls for Israel to be held accountable for these heinous crimes," the spokesperson stated. He further added that Pakistan has long advocated for a ceasefire in Gaza and supports any initiative aimed at achieving peace in the region.

The Foreign Office called upon the United Nations to take urgent notice of the ongoing human rights violations in the region. “The international community must not turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Kashmiri people,” he urged.
On Pakistan’s relationship with other countries, the spokesperson revealed that a memorandum of understanding had been signed with the Iraqi government concerning pilgrimage arrangements, signifying continued cooperation between the two nations.
The spokesperson also responded to queries about the World Health Organization’s advisory on monkeypox, clarifying that the Ministry of National Health would be the appropriate body to address such concerns.
In another significant development, the spokesperson mentioned that Pakistan is currently chairing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State, with ongoing efforts to ensure participation from all member states in the upcoming meeting.
He noted that trade between Pakistan and India has been suspended since 2019, following actions taken by India that year, and reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance on the issue.
On global matters, the spokesperson voiced Pakistan’s concerns over the rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine, urging both nations to resolve their disputes peacefully.
He also stressed that Pakistan has no involvement in the recent events in Bangladesh and affirmed that the country respects Bangladesh’s sovereignty.
