A Saudi court has sentenced a doctor to five years in prison and ordered publicity in the media after he was found guilty of harassing a nurse.
According to details, the court sentenced a Syrian doctor, who was convicted of sexually harassing a Filipino nurse, to five years in prison and defaming him through the media.
The incident began when a Filipino nurse working at a private hospital in Saudi Arabia lodged a complaint with the hospital management against a Syrian doctor for persistent flirting and inappropriate behavior.
The hospital management escalated the issue to the Public Prosecution.
An extensive investigation was conducted by the Public Prosecution, revealing the extent of the doctor's harassment towards the nurse.
The evidence was strong, leading to the doctor's immediate arrest and the initiation of legal proceedings.
The case eventually reached the criminal court, where the doctor was initially sentenced to one year in prison for his actions. However, the Court of Appeal decided to increase the sentence to five years.
In addition to the lengthy prison sentence, the Saudi court also issued an order for the doctor's name to be publicly disclosed.
