Pakistani director Syed Noor has addressed recent remarks made by actress Resham after she criticized him for labeling her as an “unlucky actress.”
The exchange began when the actress responded to Noor’s comment, asserting that it was, in fact, Noor who was unlucky for stopping their professional collaboration due to his relationship with actress Saima.
In a recent podcast with Ahmad Ali Butt, Resham voiced her disappointment, saying, “I recently heard Syed Noor call me an unlucky actress, blaming me for his involvement in low-budget productions. I admit I have worked in both good and bad films, but who was responsible for that? Syed Noor was my go-to director, but he stopped casting me because he fell in love with Saima.”
The actress also acknowledged the respect Noor showed her on film sets and emphasized that she still respects him for the opportunities and learning experiences he provided early in her career.
In response, Syed Noor shared his side of the story during an appearance on a podcast. Noor expressed his frustration, stating, “Resham is an intelligent actress, and I take pride in introducing her to the film industry. However, she doesn’t acknowledge me as her mentor. She only considers Ayub Khawar and a few others as her teachers. Despite this, I hold no grudge against her.”
Noor added, “I’m proud of the role I played in her success. I’m not angry with her, but I don't know why she isn't working much these days or why others aren't casting her. Nevertheless, if I have a suitable role for her in the future, I would definitely cast her.”
This exchange highlights the complex relationship between the two industry veterans, with both expressing respect and lingering sentiments about their past collaborations.
