The 25th Asia ITCN, Pakistan's largest IT and telecom expo, launched on August 28 at the Expo Center Karachi and will continue until August 29. The event is expected to generate over $500 million in investments and business opportunities, significantly contributing to Pakistan's economy.
This year's expo is hosting the second edition of the World CIO 200 Summit, a global event held across 55 countries. The three-day event features participation from renowned global and local brands, including Google, TikTok, Microsoft, Huawei, PTCL, and EasyPaisa, with a total of 750 companies represented.
Over 300 speakers and more than 70,000 attendees are expected, including 350 foreign delegates from 17 countries such as Saudi Arabia, China, Singapore, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Iran, Egypt, and the UAE.
ITCN Asia Event Director, Umair Nizam, stated that Pakistan's IT sector is rapidly growing, with continuous increases in exports and expansion of local companies into various countries. Global companies are increasing their footprint and partnerships in Pakistan, facilitating technology transfer to local industries and individuals.
The event is presented under the banner of Tech Destination Pakistan and is supported by the Ministry of IT and Telecom, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and the Federation of Pakistan.
Organizers noted that the government's vision is driving the country towards improving its economy and governance systems through digital transformation and technological milestones.
