The Islamabad High Court has removed the registrar office’s objections over Bushra Bibi’s application regarding provision of security to her husband Imran Khan in jail.
It also issued orders to fix the case for hearing on October 5.
IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard Bushra Bibi’s application along with the objections to it. Her counsel Latif Khosa claimed PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s life was in danger, as he had been attacked in Wazirabad also. So an application has been filed to provide him security and protect his rights.
The court then removed the registrar office’s objections and ordered to fix the case for hearing October 5.
Bushra Bibi maintained the stance in her petition that there was fear of her husband Imran Khan being poisoned in jail through his food. He is not allowed to get home-cooked food, contrary to what has been allowed to other under-trial prisoners.
She urged to ensure provision of pure food through a responsible medical officer.
The petitioner also stated that tainted food could be hazardous to her husband’s life. She said her husband was not being provided the facilities that he had the right to under the jail manual.
She requested for having the court order about provision of facilities in jail implemented, adding that the inhumane treatment with her husband in jail was against articles 9 and 14 of the Constitution.
Bushra Bibi also asked for allowing Imran Khan to exercise and take walks in the jail.
