Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir announced on Saturday that the revamping of dispensaries across the province is currently underway.
According to details, the announcement was made during a meeting of the Punjab Healthcare Commission, chaired by Khawaja Imran Nazir and Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education. The meeting, held in Lahore, included a briefing on the Commission’s performance by Chief Executive Officer Dr Saqib Aziz.
Nazir emphasised that the revamping of dispensaries is aimed at decreasing the reliance on unqualified medical practitioners. He also stressed the need to integrate private laboratories into a regulatory framework to ensure consistent standards.
Rafique highlighted that the Punjab Healthcare Commission is committed to ensuring high-quality and safe healthcare facilities. He also mentioned that the board of the Commission would be reconstituted soon in accordance with the Chief Minister’s directives.
The health ministers issued directives for regular monitoring of government hospital licensing and actions against quackery. They reaffirmed the commitment to the swift construction of additional regional offices and the central headquarters of the Punjab Healthcare Commission.
