Pakistan's security forces have launched a series of intelligence-based operations against militant groups in the Tirah Valley of Khyber District since August 20. The operations target militants who entered Pakistan from Afghanistan, including members of Lashkar-e-Islam and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.
The Frontier Corps Brigade Commander reported that militants had established hidden bases in Tirah after entering through Koh-e-Sufaid from Afghanistan. In response, the Pakistan Army deployed Special Services Group (SSG) and Light Commando units to clear the area.
According to the SSG Brigade Commander, the mission focused on minimizing civilian and military casualties while maximizing damage to enemy forces. The operations have resulted in significant losses for the militants, including the elimination of key leadership figures such as Abu Zar, also known as Saddam.
A Company Commander described the mission as challenging due to harsh weather conditions and terrain. Despite these obstacles, Pakistani forces inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, as confirmed by a Platoon Commander.
The security forces remain committed to pursuing militants until the last terrorist is eliminated from the region, demonstrating their resolve to protect civilians and national interests.
