A group of 12 to 14 terrorists launched an attack on the Quboolkhel checkpost of the Esakhel police in Mianwali district. The heavily armed terrorists, equipped with rocket launchers and hand grenades, targeted the checkpost in the early hours, leading to a fierce exchange of fire.
The police personnel stationed at the checkpost responded promptly to the attack with full force, foiling the attack. Mianwali District Police Officer Akhtar Farooq's spokesman said the terrorists fled as the police force responded to the attack.
The Esakhel DSP and SHO were present at the checkpost along with a heavy contingent, while two policemen suffered minor injuries in the attack.
Following the attack, a large-scale search operation was launched in the area to locate and apprehend the fleeing terrorists. Authorities believe that the terrorists may have suffered significant casualties during the exchange of fire.

He said the Punjab police is an iron wall against terrorists on the border checkposts.
