A blog in a major Israeli newspaper, Times of Israel, has claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan is the most suitable person to establish diplomatic relations between Israel and Pakistan.
The assertion has sparked widespread discussion, given the historically strained relations between the two nations.
The blog post by Belgian blogger Aynur Bashirova mentioned the former prime minister's alleged connections with Israel. According to Bashirova, Imran Khan reportedly sent messages to Israeli authorities through the Goldsmith family, indicating a willingness to explore the normalization of ties between the two countries.
The blogger suggested that the PTI founder’s close relationship with the Goldsmith family could be a significant factor in his evolving stance towards Israel.
The blog in the Times of Israel further claimed that the unique position, relationship and strategic thinking of Imran Khan could influence the potential establishment of relations between Israel and Pakistan. While such a move would undoubtedly face significant challenges and opposition, the newspaper believes that Imran Khan has the potential to bridge the gap between the West and the Islamic world, thanks to his international experience and connections.
Bashirova also called for the PTI founder to be given a free hand to participate in Pakistani politics once again, implying that his leadership could play a crucial role in reshaping Pakistan’s foreign policy towards Israel.
