Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman reiterated on Sunday his support to the people of Palestine.
Addressing a Khatm-e-Nabuwat Conference in the wee hours at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore, Rehman said:: "The Mujahideens of Hamas have valiantly challenged Israel by giving sacrifices. Many of the people had talked about accepting Israel. Israel can never be recognized."
At the outset of his speech, Rehman said: "This is the same Minar-e-Pakistan, where the resolution of creating Pakistan was passed way back in 1940. Today at the same ground, the resolution is being passed to save Pakistan."
"The people of Pakistan know to protect the belief in the finality of prophethood of THE Holy Prophet (PBUH)," he said.
Rehman took a jibe at the United States, saying, "Does the United States have to talk about human rights after what has happened with the people of Palestine? Your objective of recognizing Israel will never be fulfilled. The blood of the Palestinians, Afghans, Iraqis, and Libyans is in the hands of the United States."
He made it clear that his party stood by the people of the Palestinians.
Rehman stressed the need for embracing Islamic values.
Speaking about the seminaries, Rehman said: "Pressure is being put on the seminaries by following the direction from abroad."
"I have written a letter to the chief justice of Pakistan," he said.
In connection with the system of usury, he stated, "The entire world has one opinion on usury. The Federal Shariat Court has announced the verdict over the elimination of the usury. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) have withdrawn from appealing against the verdict."
