The government's efforts to revive the national economy and address the electricity crisis are showing positive results through a rigorous anti-electricity theft campaign. According to recent reports, authorities have recovered 113.62 billion rupees and arrested more than 84,520 individuals involved in electricity theft across the country.
From September 1 to September 9, relevant agencies collected over 1.56 billion rupees from electricity thieves in major cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and other areas. During this period, 102 individuals were arrested for electricity theft.
The campaign, supported by both the government and military leadership, aims to completely eradicate electricity theft nationwide. Authorities have expressed their determination to continue these operations until the issue is fully resolved.
This crackdown is part of broader initiatives to stabilize the country's economy and alleviate the ongoing electricity crisis affecting citizens across Pakistan.
