The Pakistan Army, in collaboration with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has set up a mini freelancing hub in Sost, Hunza. The facility, located at the Government Boys High School Sost Gojal, is designed to serve both students and the general public in the scenic northern region.
Javed Iqbal, the school's vice principal, highlighted the significance of this initiative for the students and the broader community. He emphasized that the hub, established jointly by the Pakistan Army and Special Communications Organization (SCO), will provide valuable digital skills and opportunities to locals.
This project is part of a broader effort under the SIFC to enhance digital literacy and create economic opportunities in remote areas of Pakistan. The free-lancing hub is expected to enable residents of Hunza to participate in the global digital economy from their hometown.
Local youth and community members have expressed gratitude towards the Pakistan Army, the Chief of Army Staff, and the SIFC for this initiative. They see it as a step towards bridging the digital divide and opening up new avenues for economic growth in the region.
The establishment of this hub in Hunza, an area known for its natural beauty, represents a blend of traditional landscape and modern digital infrastructure, potentially setting a model for similar initiatives in other remote areas of the country.
