A peaceful rally was held at the Khanewal Press Club to support constitutional amendments, particularly the establishment of a Constitutional Court in Pakistan. The demonstration brought together students, social workers, members of the National Students Front, and representatives from the Lawyers Forum.
Led by young student leader Mubashar Manzoor, the rally saw active participation from various segments of society. Energetic youth, legal professionals, and religious scholars addressed the gathering, unanimously calling for the immediate formation of a Constitutional Court.
Participants expressed concern over Pakistan's judicial system ranking 130th globally, emphasizing the need to enhance the quality of the judiciary. They stressed the importance of establishing a Federal Constitutional Court and urged the Supreme Court to focus more on serving the general public.
Speakers at the event highlighted that creating a dedicated Constitutional Court would allow the Supreme Court to allocate more time to hearing cases affecting ordinary citizens. They argued that this structural change could lead to more efficient case management and improved access to justice for the public.
The rally in Khanewal reflects growing support for judicial reforms across different sectors of Pakistani society, with a particular focus on restructuring the court system to better serve the needs of the population.
