Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was not arrested by any agency, adding that there is video evidence of him fleeing the KP House.
Speaking to the media after attending the funeral of a police officer who was martyred during the PTI protest at D-Chowk, Naqvi clarified the situation surrounding Gandapur.
Naqvi stated, "Ali Amin is not in the custody of any agency or institution. He fled from the KP House, and we conducted multiple raids suspecting his presence, but he was not found. There is footage showing him running away."
The Interior Minister also commented on the violence at the PTI protest, mentioning that another police officer remains in critical condition. "We will ensure that none of those responsible for the killing of the martyr escape justice," he vowed.
In a separate statement, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi criticized the claims of peaceful protests made by some participants. "A group came yesterday claiming to be peaceful. If many of their people were injured, in which hospital are they?" Kundi questioned.
