Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is set to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow evening for a short visit, according to the Indian media.
Jaishankar would be visiting Pakistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
During his 24-hour stay, Jaishankar is expected to hold key meetings with top Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. These interactions are likely to focus on regional cooperation and diplomatic discussions under the SCO framework.
Indian media reports also suggest that the Indian minister may attend a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in honour of the summit's dignitaries. Jaishankar’s visit marks a rare diplomatic engagement between India and Pakistan, as relations between the two neighbouring countries have been strained in recent years.
