Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khurram Dastgir on Sunday warned of the “horrendous intervention” if US President-elect Donald Trump helps the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, Dastgir lambasted the PTI founder, saying, “The PTI founder had released the Taliban commanders on the United States’ instructions back in 2018.”
Dastgir said: “The US had limited its interest in Pakistan after its withdrawal from Afghanistan to a greater extent.”
“Trump said after getting elected back in 2016 that Pakistan is a great country and its premier, Nawaz Sharif, is a great person,” he maintained.
“Receiving the US president’s phone call is neither our purpose nor our objective. Wherever there are issues, then both countries hold the discussions,” maintained Dastgir.
– ‘US won’t interfere in Pakistan’s internal affairs,’ says Khawaja Asif –
Few days back, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the US will not interfere in Pakistan’s internal affairs.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, Asif lashed out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “Some of the people are causing uproar that US President-elect Donald Trump will release their leader [PTI founder].”
“There is no probability of any pressure from the US in the matters pertaining to the PTI founder,” Asif stated.
Speaking about Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, Asif said: “Nawaz Sharif had never kowtow to the United States.”
“Pakistan is having a desire for the balanced relations with the United States,” he said.
